Believe it or not, my cooking class was featured on TV for the third time! 😳‼️
This time, it was on an informational program that airs during the daytime. The show also introduced a few charming retro shopping streets with good access from my cooking studio, and I truly enjoyed watching the segment myself.

BIG thank you to all the participants who kindly agreed to be interviewed, as well as to the filming crew and the program staff!

Following the previous feature, my cooking class was once again covered on TV. Since there were many participants and a large filming crew this time, I was a bit worried the room temperature might rise too quickly. But thankfully, we were able to carry out the lesson as usual without any issues.
A big thank you to all the participants who kindly agreed to be interviewed, as well as to the filming crew and the program staff!

Airbnb released its report titled “2025 Summer Travel Trends Revealed,”and I’m honored to share that my cooking class was selected as one of the world’s top 10 “hidden culinary gems” for this summer—together with Arakawa City in Tokyo!

Here’s an excerpt from the report (https://news.airbnb.com/summer-travel-trends) :

“Arakawa City, Japan, is a quieter alternative to bustling Shibuya. Situated in eastern Tokyo, it’s a haven for food lovers, featuring ramen and gyoza classes, and Joyful Minowa, a lively shopping arcade with traditional, family-run kissaten coffee shops.”

Following this report, Forbes Japan recently featured an article quoting the Airbnb report, and as a result, Fuji TV’s news program “Live News It!” came to cover my cooking class yesterday.

The segment will be viewable for about 10 days starting today via this link:

My cooking class originally started by offering traditional Japanese breakfasts to Airbnb guests. However, since the space was originally a residential property, it eventually became difficult to continue operating as a business.

YJC’s 10th Anniversary !

Categorised in: | Link of this article

In July 2023, YUCa’s Japanese Cooking celebrated its 10th anniversary!

My first class was on July 9, 2013. I remember how nervous I was to start the first class in a room of the tiny apartment that my husband and I had just bought at the time.
On that day, my two Australian friends joined.
At the memorable first class, we made okonomiyaki, grilled corn, and somen noodles with the “summer festival” theme. Although I managed to finish the class successfully, it was a month later that I was able to hold the next class.

Thanks to the word of mouth from guests who participated in the class helped me to be able to gradually increase the number of classes from once a month to twice a month and then once a week. Now, thankfully, the class is almost full every day.
🙇‍♀️🙇‍♀️🙇‍♀️

During the pandemic (COVID), I started new online classes and filming recipe videos & Vlogs for YouTube. It was a tough time as an entrepreneur but I could survive thanks to my husband and children’s supports. I feel so grateful. ❤️

Over the past 10 years, I have received national and international media coverage of my cooking classes. I was also able to realize my long-time dream of holding cooking classes overseas, in New York. I secretly hope to have more opportunities like this in the future.✈️🌏🎵

As for the future, since this is my 10th year anniversary, I am planning to try new project to further promote Japanese cuisine.
I will let you know as soon as the details are finalized! ✨✨✨

Love from Tokyo 🇯🇵❤️
