Day 3 We visited the local food truck event hold at Smorgasburg area. At the event, I tried dirty chai ☕️ (sooo yum!!!), Berry donut with fried chicken 🍗🍩 and onigiri rice balls 🍙! Yes, Japanese food! The fillings were a little bit different. I mean, they were localized.
Day 2 started with healthy breakfast ordered via Uber eats. I ordered vegan donut , Almond croissant , Ceviche with cauliflower, Karaage with creamy butter-milk sauce and Almond milk coffee. Some are new flavor for me so it was so fun and meaningful.
My family and I visited LA for half holiday and half “food research” last week. In the airplane, I booked “Low carbohydrate meal” for me and “Child meal” for my son. You can choose various meals from ANA’s website in advance.
There are many way of eating Ramen. Usually people imagine that ramen is a soup with egg noodles inside. This is the traditional style. I went to the Tsuke-men style ramen restaurant the other day. Tsuke-men is dipping noodle dish in Japanese.
Weekend has come! My family loves to eat pancake on weekend. (Mario and Luigi even taste small portion of pancake.) I always enjoy experimenting and adding new seasonings to create new flavors. This day, I tried matcha flavor pancake topped with Kinako (=soybean powder) and Kuromitsu (=brown sugar syrup) and the vegetables pancake with sweet corn and pumpkin inside. Oh, I like the simple pancake with butter and maple syrup as well. Happy weekend!
The other day, my family happened to visit the first Kumamoto ramen shop in Tokyo. Kumamoto is the name of the prefecture, which is located in Kyushu region. The name of the ramen shop is “Keika(桂花)”. This shop is located near the Sunshine city, so I recommend to visit there after the long walk of window-shopping!
Recently, I hold Mario and Luigi Bento class for family guests from USA. I was so happy to know that they chose this class because they wanted to learn Japanese Bento and also meet Mario and Luigi at the end of their Japan trip! (By the way, my hungry son finished almost all the Mario and Luigi Bento…you know.)
I visited my hometown few weeks ago and had a relaxing time there. Since my hometown Iwaki-city (Fukushima-prefecture) has a lot of nature, my family enjoyed spending time at the beach, mountain and botanical garden etc. I especially enjoyed walking around the neighborhood where I used to live before moving to Tokyo. I could see so many new houses and its architectures are very modern and sophisticated. My son could meet cousins and play together with them. Visited the Ramen street in Tokyo station and tasted vegan ramen at Soranoiro. I have wanted to visit shop for long time since my cooking class guests talk about this shop some times.
