Categorised in: | Link of this article

In this video, I will show you how to make Fried Rice Onigiri. Do you like fried rice? I do A LOT! Fried rice is one of the Japanese foods influenced by Chinese cuisine. There are many styles and recipes of this dish and I will introduce my style fried rice in this video. To make delicious fried rice, please don’t forget to check YUCa’s Tips as well.

Ingredients:

Fried Rice Onigiri:
300g Japanese rice *steamed
50g Pork
2/3 stick Spring onion
2 Egg
1 Bundle Long onion
Red pickled ginger *Optional

(Seasoning:)
3g Ginger
1/3 tsp Salt & Pepper
3 Tbsp Canola oil
2 tsp Soy sauce
2 tsp Sake

Tofu & Egg Soup:
1/2 block Silken tofu
1/3 stick Spring onion
1 Egg
400ml Water

(Seasoning:)
2 tsp Chicken bouillon
1 Tbsp Sesame oil
1 pinch of Salt

Directions:

Fried Rice Onigiri:
1. Finely chop the ginger, garlic and pork into small pieces. Then, put them into the frying pan.
2. Heat the pan with medium flame and pour the oil. When it’s all cooked, take the stir-fried food out of the frying pan.
3. In the same frying pan, pour only the oil of the stir fry.
4. Add beaten egg and rice, and lightly stir fry. Put the stir-fried food back in the frying pan.
5. Put the stir-fried rice aside, add soy sauce and sake to the empty space, and burn it. Then, stir all together.
6. Add green onions and mix gently. Then, remove from frying pan and cool.
7. Prepare the cellophane wrap and put fried rice on it.
8. Form the fried rice to make triangle shape and put red pickled ginger on top.

Tofu & Egg Soup:
1. Chop the spring onion into small pieces. Cut the tofu into bite-size pieces.
2. Put spring onion and sesame oil in a pot, and start to heat with medium flame.
3. Once it cooked, pour water and chicken bouillon.
4. When it starts to boil, add tofu, salt and egg. Gently crush the egg yolk in a soup.

YUCa’s Tips:

1. Put the ingredients before the oil gets hot.
2. Use the oil soaked in the taste of spring onion.
3. Prepare warm or hot Japanese rice.
4.
Slightly burn the soy sauce and *sake* before mixing everything.
5.
Use kitchen paper when forming fried rice onigiri.
