Ramen research time!!! 🍜😊 Yes! While visiting Los Angeles, I visited the famous ramen shop called Daikokuya (大黒屋).
(It was my first time to visit ramen shop in abroad!) Daikokuya locates in the Little Tokyo area in downtown. There are lots of shops that offers other Japanese foods and products, so it’s just fun to walk around.

Daikokuya became the BEST Ramen Spot of Downtown Los Angeles 2017. I tried their popular tonkotsu (pork bone based) ramen. The soup was less thick and less heavy compared to the ramen in Japan. Egg was not soft-boiled. Japanese people love soft boiled egg and thick heavy tonkotsu soup a lot. I thought this tonkotsu ramen is localized for their customers in LA. It’s always fun to find the differences. By the way, I liked the interior of the shop.

So “retro”!
