Recipe : Sara Udon

Sara Udon(皿うどん), which literally means “plate noodles,” is a regional dish from Nagasaki, a city in southwestern Japan known for its unique blend of Japanese, Chinese, and Western influences. The dish reflects Nagasaki’s rich cultural history as one of the few ports open to foreign trade during Japan’s period of national isolation (Edo period). Chinese immigrants and traders played a significant role in shaping the local cuisine, and Sara Udon is a direct result of that cultural fusion.

Sekihan is often served during special occasions such as birthdays, festivals, and ceremonies. Recipe : Karaage (Japanese Fried Chicken)

Japanese karaage is simply deep-fried chicken seasoned with mostly soy sauce, sake, ginger and garlic. In Japan, karaage is loved by men and women of all ages, so much so that there are bento boxes that contain only karaage on a bed of white rice. It is also readily available at convenience stores, so it is common to see students and businessmen eating it for a quick pick-me-up. The key to its deliciousness is that it is crispy on the outside and juicy and juicy on the inside.

Menu:
– Rice balls [Recipe]
– Miso soup with veggies [Recipe]
– Simmered fried tofu and vegetables topped with starchy sauce
– Potato salad [Recipe]
– Kimpira Gobo [Recipe]
– Apple
Behind the scenes:
This meal is recommended when your child wants to enjoy rice balls as the main dish while making sure to eat plenty of side dishes. The miso soup is filled with my personal favorite vegetables, and the kinpira gobo and potato salad are designed with dietary fiber in mind. The thick fried tofu, which can often be dry, is served with a thick sauce to make it easier to eat. For dessert, diced apples are included, making them easy for small children to pick up and eat with their hands.
